Awareness Through Movement® ATM Lessons are designed to make the student aware of his/her habitual neuromuscular patterns and increase movement options while increasing sensitivity and improving efficiency. Unlike strengthening or flexibility exercises, these lessons do not require force, using effort and struggling to achieve an end result. As soon as you effort or feel pain you are not learning. What an ATM hopes to achieve is an improvement on the way you move. This progress achieved by using the minimal amount of effort possible and strive for a graceful continuous movement. Students leave ATM lessons often with a feeling of lightness, more balanced, openness, gracefulness, generally more comfortable with in themselves.
